Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moon comes to the cage accompanied by Armin Van Buuren - Sail. Russo has chosen Destroy Everything as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo moves away from the strike by Moon. Moon goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Moon misses with a kick to the body.
Russo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Moon throws a low kick but Russo avoids it. Moon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Russo fails with a takedown attempt. Russo blocks the body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice defenses there by Moon. Russo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Russo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Russo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Moon defending well though. Russo winds up and cracks Moon with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Moon has a hand on Russo's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Russo takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Moon keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Russo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Russo wants to finish this one by submission but Moon is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Russo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Russo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Moon is looking to escape. Russo controlling from mount. Russo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Moon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Moon and Russo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Moon sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Moon manages to get back to half guard. Moon regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Russo. Moon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Moon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Russo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Russo trying to control but Moon is working from the bottom. Russo throwing strikes from guard but Moon blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Moon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Russo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Moon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Moon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Nice takedown defense from Moon. No joy for Russo on that attempt. Moon ducks under a wild hook from Russo. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Moon needs to keep his hands up - Russo had a free shot at his head there. A looping hook to the body misses from Russo. Moon does a little dance to reset his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Russo dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Russo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Moon to score with a decent uppercut. Russo throws a jab when Moon was well out of range. Moon slips a jab and a cross from Russo.
Moon moves away from the strike by Russo. Russo looks for a takedown but Moon sprawls well. Russo scores with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Moon throws a leg kick that misses. Moon scoring well with a low kick there.

Jason Moon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Russo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Moon will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Moon throws a solid leg kick but Russo takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Moon. Russo misses with a looping left. Russo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jason Moon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Russo. Russo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Russo looks to score with a jab to the body but Moon is just out of range. Russo thuds a left hand into Moon's body. Russo tries for a takedown but Moon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Jimmy Russo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Moon throws a low kick but Russo avoids it. Moon misses with a body kick. Russo throws a series of punches but Moon moves out of range. Russo's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Russo duly obliges. Russo looks to land a right hand but Moon moved out of range. Russo throws a jab but it's blocked by Moon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Russo. Moon throws a leg kick which misses Russo's front leg but catches the back leg as Russo tries to avoid it. Moon misses with a low kick. Moon blocks a jab. Russo takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Russo throws a looping overhand right but Moon ducks down to avoid it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Russo is defended easily by Moon. Russo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Russo misses with a straight left. Moon tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. A telegraphed right hand from Russo misses the target. Moon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Russo. Russo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Moon.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Russo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Moon. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Moon dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's one minute gone in the round. Russo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Moon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Moon is trying to get back to full guard. Russo working the head and body with strikes. Russo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Russo scoring with strikes but Moon is staying in there. Moon regains half guard. Russo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Moon is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Russo is trying to control the action in half guard but Moon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Russo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Moon works his way to full guard. Good work. Russo advances to half guard. Moon actively working from the bottom here. Ground and pound from Russo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moon is staying active underneath Russo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Moon regains full guard. Nicely done. Moon keeping moving, preventing Russo from controlling successfully. Moon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Russo. Moon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Moon working for a triangle but Russo defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Russo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Moon being controlled here, momentarily. Russo stopping the sweep attempt from Moon. Russo with a flurry of punches that miss.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Russo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Russo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
