Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rush's choice of entrance music: eye of the tiger. Eli Rush will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua slips a jab and a cross from Rush.
Rua changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rush looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rua tries to score with some ground and pound. Rush controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Check out the look on Rua's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Rua happy to just control the position for now. Rua is working Rush over with some ground and pound from side control. Rua trying to control the position but Rush is working away. Rua working the ground and pound. Rua works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Rua is putting a hurting on Rush here, landing some big shots from side control. Rua wants to control but Rush is keeping him busy. Rush is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rush dodges the ground and pound from Rua.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee asks Rua politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rua prefers to stall for the moment though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rua working the head and body with strikes. Rua wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rush keeps working. Rua lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rush down.
Rua scores with punches from side control. Rua scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rush to see if he's OK. Rush is trying to control Rua's posture but Rua avoids it. Rua cracks Rush with a big right hand but Rush just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
It looks like Eli Rush has been cut. Rush manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Rua on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rua tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua keeping control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rush is just content to waste time from the top position. Rua takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Rua wants to sweep here but Rush controlling him for the moment. Rush trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rua looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Rua tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua is pulling down on Rush's head to control his posture. Rua keeping moving, preventing Rush from controlling successfully. Rua trying to control the position here. Rush looking to sit in guard and control but Rua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rua stays in close to Rush's body and controls the position. Rush trying to keep a closed guard but Rua is proving a slippery customer.
Rush looks gassed! Rua thows a big elbow that misses. Rua landing with the ground and pound. Rua chips away with some ground and pound. Rua thows a big elbow that misses. Marcelo Rua dominated that round. The cut man is working on Eli Rush's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rua gets a takedown into half guard. Rua with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rua is nestled in close to Rush, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Rua here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Rua not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rua is pressing down on Rush's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rush is holding on for now. Rush trying to hold on to Rua's head to control him but Rua postures up.
Rua working Rush over with strikes. Rua wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rush keeps working. Rush is breathing heavily. Rush on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Rua stalling. Rush is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rua scores with a couple of nice shots. Rua drops an elbow to the side of Rush's head.
That has opened up Eli Rush's cut even more. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rua in particular looking to stall. Rush is looking to improve his position.
Rua slips a nice elbow through Rush's hands, connecting with Rush's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua working Rush over with strikes. Rush is trying to control but can't.
Rua keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Rua lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Rush taking some punishment here, with Rua in his half guard. Rua lands with a punch from half guard. Rua drops an elbow to the side of Rush's head. Rua lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Rua looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rush with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua uses his free foot to push down on Rush's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rush. Rua controlling the pace for now. A nice elbow there by Rua.
The cut above Eli Rush's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Rua landing strikes from the mount.
Eli Rush's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Rua in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Eli Rush's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Marcelo Rua!
