Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nathan Kennedy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Slim Duck! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duck avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kennedy tries to clinch but Duck is having none of it. Kennedy tries to clinch but Duck moves out of range. Kennedy fails in his attempt to clinch. Duck gets the takedown into side control. Kennedy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Duck has just dragged him back down to the mat. Duck taking a breather here. Duck looks up at the clock and then as Kennedy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Duck smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Duck landing a few strikes. Duck is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kennedy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Duck remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Kennedy pushes Duck away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Duck gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duck is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Kennedy looks calm but he's in trouble here. Duck gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Kennedy is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Duck lets go of the hold and Kennedy can pop his arm back in it's socket.
