Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Agnelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson Agnelli could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Matt Hughes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Agnelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Hughes!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Agnelli there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Agnelli misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No luck for Agnelli with that takedown attempt.

Agnelli gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Agnelli working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hughes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hughes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hughes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Agnelli is just riding it out for now. Hughes eventually gives up the hold.

Agnelli had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hughes is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Agnelli Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hughes's back instead.
Agnelli is breathing heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hughes is looking to control Agnelli's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hughes avoid being mounted?

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Agnelli escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hughes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Agnelli is looking for a triangle but Hughes pushes his legs off easily.

Hughes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hughes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Hughes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Agnelli is trying to escape the mount but Hughes keeps good control and instead manages to take Agnelli's back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hughes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Agnelli tries to bench press Hughes off him but Hughes keeps the position.

Hughes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hughes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Agnelli's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Agnelli is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hughes is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Agnelli looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hughes gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Agnelli is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hughes lets go of the hold and Agnelli can pop his arm back in it's socket.
