Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuunojuhani Laavalahti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laavalahti is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Raise up - Petey Pablo. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kuunojuhani Laavalahti! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson throws out a loose jab but Laavalahti uses good head movement to avoid it. Peterson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Laavalahti takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Laavalahti wants to clinch up but Peterson keeps it at a distance. Laavalahti tries to clinch up. Peterson tries to keep at a distance but Laavalahti has taken the fight into the clinch. Peterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Peterson lands with a hook. Laavalahti tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Laavalahti misses with a takedown attempt - Peterson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Laavalahti fails with an attempt to clinch.
Peterson works the jab nicely. Laavalahti tries to clinch but Peterson is having none of it. Peterson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Laavalahti feints and as Peterson raises his hands in defense, Laavalahti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Laavalahti drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Peterson dives on top into guard. Laavalahti looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson tries to stand but Laavalahti is controlling from the bottom. Peterson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Peterson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Peterson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Peterson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Laavalahti fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Peterson throws a body punch but Laavalahti moves out of range. Laavalahti tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peterson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Peterson throws the left hand but Laavalahti avoids the punch easily. Peterson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Laavalahti ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Laavalahti dives in and grabs Peterson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Peterson pushes down on Laavalahti's head and hops out. Mike Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kuunojuhani Laavalahti. Peterson throws a jab when Laavalahti was well out of range. Laavalahti shoots for a takedown but Peterson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Laavalahti moves out of range as Peterson strikes. Laavalahti has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Peterson finds it's way round the side to connect with Laavalahti's head. Kuunojuhani Laavalahti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peterson swings for the body but Laavalahti moves out of range.
Peterson throws a body punch but Laavalahti moves out of range. Peterson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Peterson punishes Laavalahti's body with a nice straight punch. Peterson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Peterson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Laavalahti stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Laavalahti takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A lazy left from Peterson finds it's target. Laavalahti takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Peterson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Peterson slaps away a takedown attempt from Laavalahti, before circling back to the center of the mat. Peterson lands an overhand right. Peterson lands with a good body shot. Laavalahti takes a shot right to the bread basket. Laavalahti takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Peterson stuns Laavalahti with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice shot by Peterson. Peterson connects with a right hand. Laavalahti shakes it off. Laavalahti looks up at the clock. Bad move! Peterson lands a right hand from hell, dropping Laavalahti. Peterson pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Peterson!
