Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Smith struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Bobby Smith is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Kong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Smith! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Kong moves away and avoids it. Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kong paws at him with a jab and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kong is defended easily by Smith. Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kong. Kong darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Smith is not content to let Kong control the position. Kong winds up and cracks Smith with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Kong not landing any meaningful shots this time. Smith keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Smith is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kong scores with a couple of nice shots. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, if Kong is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith trying to control from the bottom.
Kong missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kong throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Smith is controlling Kong's position as best he can from this difficult position. Kong is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kong is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kong works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Smith takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith looks gassed! Kong throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Kong lands a decent elbow from side control. Smith taking punishment in the form of punches.
Smith trying to remain calm as Kong controls from the top position. Kong scores with a couple of short elbows. Smith is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Smith on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kong working the ground and pound from side control. Kong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The strikes coming from Kong are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to control Kong's posture but Kong avoids it. Smith sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Kong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head. Kong is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now. Kong is taking a breather. Smith says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Smith wants to sweep but Kong has passed to side control! Smith takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Kong in side control lands a decent elbow. Kong working the body and head with strikes. Smith tries to buck Kong off but Kong is having none of it. Kong working the ground and pound. Smith takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Smith wants to control but Kong postures up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth. The referee takes a look at Smith to see if he's OK. Kong scoring with punches from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyle Kong dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kong scores a takedown into full mount! Smith is looking to improve his position but Kong isn't that keen on the idea. Kong breaks from Smith's wrist control and lands an elbow. Kong working Smith over with strikes here. Smith is in a horrible position here. Kong smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Smith tries to buck Kong off but he can't manage it. Kong controlling the position easily from mount. Kong lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Kong landing punches. A nice elbow there by Kong.
Smith is rocked! Kong with shots to the head and body - Smith looks very uncomfortable down there. Smith is still in real trouble! Can Kong finish him? Kong putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Kong loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Smith scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Kong land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Kong stands and salutes the crowd.
