Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ro Nin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Konstantin Snegov! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snegov misses with a head kick.
Nin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Snegov is trying to defend but Nin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Snegov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nin is working for a submission of some sort.
Snegov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Snegov is trying to get back to full guard. Nin trying to control from half guard but Snegov is working away. Nin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nin is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Nin wants to control the pace but Snegov is squirming around nicely. Snegov is wriggling around trying to escape.
Nin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Snegov is looking to escape. Snegov tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Snegov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Snegov manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Nin is breathing heavily. Snegov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Snegov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Snegov reverses the position - he's now on top in Nin's guard. Nin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Snegov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Snegov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Snegov stands up from guard. Let's bang! Nin fails with the takedown. Good standup being displayed there by Snegov as he connects with a hook. A big head kick from Snegov and Nin is sent sprawling to the canvas!

It looks like Ro Nin has been cut. Nin can't keep his opponent in guard - Snegov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Snegov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Nin wants to improve his position but Snegov is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nin fails with a takedown attempt. Nin moves out of range of the body kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Konstantin Snegov dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ro Nin's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Snegov as he avoids it easily. Nin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Look low, kick high! Snegov uses the oldest trick in the book to send Nin tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Snegov is absolutely delighted - when Nin wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
