Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Bent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Bent!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bent swats away the attempt to clinch by Daniels.
Daniels tries to clinch up but Bent circles away and keeps his distance.
Bent misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bent.
Bent missing with a left hand there. Daniels was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Daniels looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Daniels misses with a series of wild punches.
Daniels misses with a takedown attempt - Bent sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Daniels throws a sloppy head kick and Bent moves out of range easily.
Daniels wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daniels shoots for a double leg takedown but Bent sprawls well. He's pushed Daniels's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bent throws a lazy right hand but Daniels sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but Bent shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Daniels gets the takedown into side control.

Bent is trying to get back to his feet.
Daniels throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Bent wants to get back to his feet.
Daniels is looking to take a break and control but Bent is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bent is working to avoid the ground and pound but Daniels connects with a decent elbow.

Daniels stands up and beckons Bent to his feet.
Daniels is breathing heavily.
Bent blocks a low kick nicely.
Daniels lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bent as he jumps to the side.
Bent fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Daniels manages to avoid it.
Daniels really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bent rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Daniels moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Daniels has managed to clinch.
Daniels drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Bent breaks the clinch.
Bent tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A choreographed right hand from Bent misses the target.
Bent fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A low kick from Bent misses

and Daniels counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Daniels tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bent smiles and moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Bent. No joy for Daniels on that attempt.
Bent looks to land a combination but Daniels avoids it well.
Daniels lands a high kick to the side of Bent's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Daniels dives into guard, looking to finish.


Bent is rocked!


It looks like Chris Bent has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Daniels cracks Bent with a solid left hand.
Bent is still in real trouble! Can Daniels finish him?
Daniels with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Daniels lands a couple of elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Daniels drops back looking for a leg! Bent is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bent manages to kick Daniels off! Daniels jumps back into Bent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Daniels slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Daniels distracts Bent with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Daniels gets to his feet. Bent looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Bent seems to have recovered his senses.
Bent misses with a jab, cross combination.
Daniels lands a head kick. Bent smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Daniels closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daniels lands in his opponent's guard.
Daniels is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bent keeping moving, preventing Daniels from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Daniels slips nicely into half guard.
Daniels slips a nice elbow through Bent's hands, connecting with Bent's forehead.
Daniels trying to control the action but Bent is working from the bottom.

Daniels is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Daniels with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Daniels stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bent to get to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bent gets caught flat footed, as Daniels shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bent uses the cage to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Daniels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bent misses with the combination.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but Bent shows good takedown defense.

Daniels closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daniels lands in his opponent's guard.
Daniels has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bent trying to keep a closed guard but Daniels is proving a slippery customer.
Daniels thows a big elbow that misses.
Daniels stops Bent from standing up.
Bent controls Daniels momentarily but Daniels frees himself.

Bent working for a triangle but Daniels defends it easily.
Daniels throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bent works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Bent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bent throws a right hand that Daniels ducks under and follows up with a left that Daniels also avoids with ease.
Bent misses with a double jab.
Daniels is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bent.
Bent takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Bent clinches but Daniels breaks the clinch

and Daniels counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bent is staying active underneath Daniels, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Daniels prevents Bent from standing back up.
Bent is breathing heavily.
Daniels content to control rather than advance.

Bent tries to kick Daniels off but Daniels keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bent is trying to escape back to his feet but Daniels uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Daniels lands a nice forearm strike.
Daniels lands a few punches from side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Daniels is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bent has escaped the position, nice work there.
Bent pushes Daniels away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Daniels gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Bent tries to improve position but can't.

Bent throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Bent shoots in and drives through. Daniels sprawls well.

Bent fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Daniels gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Daniels breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but Bent shows good takedown defense.
Bent chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Bent lands with a straight right. Daniels didn't see that one coming.

so Daniels counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Daniels throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Daniels throws a nice inside leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Bent as Daniels shoots in.

and Daniels counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Daniels.

Daniels shoots in for a double leg but Bent sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Daniels showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bent.
Horrible takedown by Daniels or perhaps it was just good defense by Bent which made him look bad.
Daniels shoots for a takedown but Bent saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Daniels is working for takedown but Bent is calmly controlling the position for now.

Daniels rushes Bent and presses him up against the cage.

Bent escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Daniels wants to clinch up but Bent keeps it at a distance.
Bent misses with a looping right.

and Bent counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bent.

Bent has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Daniels off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Daniels misses with a head kick.
Daniels doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bent cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Daniels is rocked!

Bent scores with a takedown into Daniels's guard.
Oh Daniels is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bent stands up and waves to Daniels to follow him.
Bent cracks Daniels with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Daniels tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Bent pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Daniels is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Bent!
