Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Silva. Silva obviously looking to wear him down.
Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.
West tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Silva lands a shoulder strike.
West has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

West lands a nice uppercut.
West drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ricardo Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deano West.
Silva gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, West regains guard.
West wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Silva is now in half guard.
West is trying to get back to full guard.
West really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
West looks to clinch
and Silva counters with an outside leg kick.
Silva lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Deano West has been cut.
Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with West, pushing him back against the cage.

Silva pushes West back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
West drops down looking for an ankle pick but Silva pulls his leg out and moves away.

West wants a takedown but no success here.
Silva gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
West looks gassed!
Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Silva stands and steps away. West gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
West looks to clinch
and Silva moves into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but West shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

West tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.

Silva throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva lands a head kick. West smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to West's calf.
Silva connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Silva throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by West.
West tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.

Silva lands with a short shot to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Silva.
Silva's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Silva wants a takedown.
West can't get the takedown.

Silva gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of West backwards.
Silva makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Silva will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning West up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
West wants to clinch but Silva slips to the side
and Silva counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Ricardo Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Silva counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Silva counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. West is lucky that one didn't land flush.
West tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.
West misses with some punches.
West wants to break the clinch but can't.

That has opened up Deano West's cut even more.

Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from West.
West is breathing heavily.
Silva lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Silva tightens his grip and picks West up, before dumping him to the ground. West manages to land in guard.
West wants to sweep but no luck.
Silva slips nicely into half guard.
Silva passes the guard and advances to mount!

West is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Silva misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

West tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
West really wants to buck Silva off and get back to his feet.

West is desperately trying to improve his position but Silva has a good base and remains in mount.

Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West can't escape the position.
Silva cracks West with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

West wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Silva.
Silva throws some wild stikes that West manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Silva prevents West from getting the reversal.
Silva goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now West is on top in guard.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
West is fighting to break Silva's control of his arms but Silva is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
West drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now West has Silva in his guard.
Silva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that West can do to turn this around?

West is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. West doesn't seem bothered though.

Silva lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Silva lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
West is working for takedown but Silva is calmly controlling the position for now.
Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on West if he has to take too many more of those.
