Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Jeremy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Svensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is GRAVEDIGGAZ - DIARY OF A MADMAN. 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Svensson! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jeremy is looking to clinch but Svensson is avoiding it.
Jeremy fails with a takedown attempt. Jeremy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Svensson defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jeremy slips under a jab.

Svensson scores with a takedown into Jeremy's guard. Jeremy keeping full guard, as Svensson tries to pass. Svensson tries to stand but Jeremy is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Svensson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Svensson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jeremy is staying active underneath Svensson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Svensson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svensson feints and as Jeremy raises his hands in defense, Svensson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Svensson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jeremy, up you get! Svensson loads up on a big right hand but Jeremy slips the punch. Svensson throws the left hand but Jeremy avoids the punch easily. Svensson wants to clinch but Jeremy slips to the side and Jeremy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Svensson is trying to stand up here but Jeremy is controlling him well. Svensson kicks off Jeremy and gets to his feet. Svensson thows a left - swing and a miss! Svensson gets the takedown into side control. Svensson tries to move to full mount but Jeremy actually manages to regain half guard. Svensson trying to pass the guard but Jeremy defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Svensson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Svensson thows a left - swing and a miss! Svensson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. It looks like Svensson is going to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jeremy actively working from the bottom here. Svensson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jeremy!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jeremy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Svensson looking to ground and pound but Jeremy is blocking nicely. Jeremy is looking to improve his position but Svensson isn't that keen on the idea. Svensson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Svensson lands a big shot there that rocks Jeremy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Svensson stands up from mount. Strange move. Svensson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jeremy sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jeremy looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jeremy stands up and waves to Svensson to follow him. Dan Svensson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jeremy ducks under a wild hook from Svensson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svensson instigates a clinch. Svensson managing to block the knees to the body from Jeremy.
Jeremy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Svensson is defending well for now. Svensson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jeremy wants to clinch and Svensson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Svensson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Svensson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Svensson misses with a looping right. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Excellent takedown into side control there by Svensson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Svensson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Jeremy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Svensson throws out the jab. Jeremy keeps the fight on the outside. Svensson with a hook. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jeremy tries to clinch but Svensson moves away and Svensson counters with a single leg into guard. Jeremy didn't expect that. Svensson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jeremy misses with a takedown so Svensson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Svensson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Svensson stands up and waves to Jeremy to follow him. Svensson thows a body shot but no joy. Donnie Jeremy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jeremy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Svensson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Jeremy tries to clinch and Svensson counters with a series of strikes. Jeremy will be more careful next time no doubt. Jeremy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. A jab from Svensson misses. Jeremy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Svensson counters with a shoot takedown. Jeremy fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svensson stands and steps away. Jeremy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jeremy wants to clinch and Svensson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jeremy wants to clinch and Svensson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Svensson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dan Svensson has got the better of the ground game so far. Jeremy wants to control the position but Svensson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Svensson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jeremy to stand up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A swing and a miss from Svensson.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Svensson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Svensson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
