Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Tribbett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathanial Diazo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Tribbett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathanial Diazo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tribbett shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Tribbett is thwarting Diazo's attempts to control the position.

Tribbett is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Diazo defends it well.

Tribbett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Diazo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tribbett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Diazo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tribbett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Diazo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diazo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tribbett is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tribbett wants to get back to his feet but Diazo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Diazo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tribbett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diazo has managed to get both his arms back between Tribbett's legs - danger averted.

Diazo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Diazo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Diazo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tribbett sprawls well. Tribbett wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diazo gets slowly back to his feet.

Tribbett has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Diazo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tribbett.

Diazo in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Diazo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tribbett keeps working.

Tribbett has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Diazo doesn't defend quickly enough and Tribbett has managed to lock this one up! Can Diazo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Tribbett on a fantastic submission victory.
