Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andre Romano! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romano fails in his attempt to clinch. Penn keeps the fight on the outside. Penn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Romano moves in looking to clinch but Penn pushes him off. Penn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice shot lands for Penn. Penn lands a jab to the nose. Romano tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Penn takes a swing at Romano's ribcage but misses. Romano slips a jab and a cross from Penn.
Andre Romano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Penn.
Romano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Penn ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Romano keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Romano tries to clinch up. Penn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Penn shoots in and bounces Romano off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Romano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Romano swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Romano working for a triangle but Penn defends it easily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Romano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Romano keeping full guard, as Penn tries to pass. Penn wants to control from the top but Romano keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Penn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Romano is looking to clinch. Penn throws a right hand that Romano ducks under and follows up with a left that Romano also avoids with ease.
Romano moves into range and clinches up with Penn. Romano fails to pull guard.
Penn jumps guard but Romano stands there with Penn around his waist. Penn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Romano fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Paul Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Romano.
Romano decides to pull guard. Penn wants to control from the top but Romano keeps moving.
Romano is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Penn is aware though and is defending well.

Penn drops back looking for a leg! Romano is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Romano manages to kick Penn off! Penn jumps back into Romano's guard. Romano keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully. Penn throws a strike but Romano rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Romano is fighting to break Penn's control of his arms but Penn is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.  The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A head kick misses from Penn. Romano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Penn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Penn throws the left hand but Romano avoids the punch easily. Penn keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Penn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Penn cracks Romano with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Romano tries to clinch up. Penn throws a nice looking combination but Romano bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Romano tries to clinch up but Penn circles away and keeps his distance. Romano is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Penn is looking to clinch but Romano is avoiding it.
Penn fails with a takedown attempt. The crowd cheers as Penn lands an impressive looking overhand right. Romano doesn't seem phased though. Romano darts in trying to clinch
and Penn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Romano won't be happy with that.
Penn is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Romano has escaped the position, nice work there. Romano tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Penn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Penn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Romano knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Romano gets back to half guard. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Penn dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Penn misses with a looping left. Penn works over Romano's head and body with a nice combination.
Penn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Penn is working to tighten is grip on Romano's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Romano has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Penn is really squeezing tight and eventually Romano passes out! Penn breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
