Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Charillos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Langer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Charillos looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Charillos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alan Langer!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langer throws a leg kick but Charillos sees it coming and checks it nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Charillos is defended easily by Langer.
Charillos avoids the body shot from Langer.

Langer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Charillos was covering up waiting for the punch and Langer finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Charillos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Charillos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Charillos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Charillos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Langer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Charillos has managed to get both his arms back between Langer's legs - danger averted.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A close round but Alan Langer will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Charillos tries to close the distance and clinch but Langer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Alan Langer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Charillos can't escape the position.

Langer goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Charillos turns into him and now he's in Langer's guard.

Charillos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alan Langer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Langer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
