The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todd Ellis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Carlson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Todd Ellis is trying to defend but Carlson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Carlson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Todd Ellis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carlson.

Carlson is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Todd Ellis still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Todd Ellis has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Jeff Carlson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Carlson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Todd Ellis wants to get back to his feet but Carlson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Carlson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Todd Ellis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Todd Ellis has escaped and now he's on top!
