Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lawrence Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Rider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cohen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Season in the Abyss. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lawrence Cohen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Rider! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cohen tries for a takedown but Rider sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cohen scores with a nice right hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Rider.
Cohen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rider is trying to defend but Cohen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Rider trying to control but Cohen postures up.
Rider tries to roll over but Cohen keeps him under control. Rider is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cohen trying to control the action but Rider is working from the bottom. Cohen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rider is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Cohen has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rider keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cohen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Rider is squirming around, avoiding Cohen's attempts to control the action. Cohen working away from the top, dropping strikes. Cohen is trying to take his opponent's back.
Rider tries to hold on but Cohen pushes him away. Cohen looking to control but Rider is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Cohen looking to ground and pound but Rider is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cohen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Cohen trying to control but Rider is having none of it. Rider tries to reverse the position but Cohen maintains control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Cohen thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Cohen looking to control but Rider is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Cohen avoids the attempt from Rider to control. Cohen tries to control but Rider wriggling away. Cohen is really struggling to control Rider but he's trying to hold on to the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cohen unloads with some shots from mount but Rider bucks and avoids them well.

Rider drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lawrence Cohen. Rider uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cohen.
Cohen doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rider counters with a leg kick. Rider fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cohen. Cohen takes a swing at Rider's ribcage but misses. Some wild striking there from Cohen.
Rider throws a leg kick but Cohen checks it. Cohen shoots and misses and Rider counters with a body kick that stops Cohen in his tracks momentarily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rider turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Rider lands with a thumping leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rider slips a nice elbow through Cohen's hands, connecting with Cohen's forehead. Rider content to control rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rider lands a big shot. Cohen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Rider sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cohen defending well though. Rider throwing shots but Cohen is blocking nicely. Cohen manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rider landing with the ground and pound. Ryan Rider has got the better of the ground game so far. Rider landing some decent shots from guard. Rider trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cohen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rider scoring with punches to the head and body. Rider working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rider is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Rider is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cohen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rider trying to control the position from guard on top but Cohen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rider lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Rider missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rider working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cohen looking to control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rider feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rider is looking to work some ground and pound but Cohen has wrist control. Rider got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cohen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rider has managed to get both his arms back between Cohen's legs - danger averted. Rider scoring with punches to the head and body. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rider postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rider putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Rider wants to control the pace but Cohen is squirming around nicely. Rider scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Cohen?

Rider breaks from Cohen's wrist control and lands an elbow. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cohen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cohen is working to get back to half guard.

Cohen wants to control but Rider is having none of it. Rider has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cohen's face.
Cohen is in a horrible position here. Rider smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rider fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rider lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rider unloading with bombs!

A big strike lands for Rider! That's really hurt Cohen and he's turned his back - Rider keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Rider jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
