Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saul Trejo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trejo has chosen Red Flag by Billy Talent as his entrance music. Jeff Gomes looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeff Gomes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Saul Trejo!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Trejo. Gomes does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gomes misses with a two punch combination.
Trejo is looking to clinch.
Trejo shoots for a double leg takedown but Gomes sprawls well. He's pushed Trejo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Trejo closes the distance and clinches.

Gomes drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Trejo lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Gomes drops down looking for an ankle pick but Trejo pulls his leg out and moves away.

Gomes is breathing heavily.
Trejo throws a sloppy head kick and Gomes moves out of range easily.
Trejo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gomes tries to avoid it but Trejo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gomes to the ground. Gomes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Trejo slips a jab and a cross from Gomes.
Trejo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Trejo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gomes gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Trejo is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Gomes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Trejo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Trejo has picked Gomes up - he's going for a ride! Trejo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Gomes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trejo on the ground.
Trejo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gomes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Trejo.
Trejo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gomes has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gomes wants to get back to his feet.
Trejo wants to work for an arm triangle but Gomes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gomes is trying to stand up here but Trejo is controlling him well.
Trejo moves into full mount! Gomes won't be happy about that!

Trejo looking to isolate an arm here. Gomes doesn't see it coming and as Trejo extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Trejo!
