Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between bruce parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Boggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, bruce parker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nicky Boggs! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boggs misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Boggs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. parker defends it nicely. Horrible takedown by Boggs or perhaps it was just good defense by parker which made him look bad. bruce parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicky Boggs.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boggs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. parker is looking for a sweep. Boggs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. parker is trying to maintain the position but Boggs is very close to passing his half guard. Boggs is trying to control. parker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Boggs looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
parker pushes Boggs off and gets back to his feet. Boggs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around parker's waist but parker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boggs off to one side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boggs tries to score a power double leg takedown but parker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Boggs somewhat. Boggs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. parker defends it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. parker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
bruce parker dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
parker moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boggs gets control of parker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Boggs will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. parker advances position into side control! parker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boggs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. parker tries to score with some ground and pound. Boggs controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. You can see the frustration on Boggs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. parker throwing strikes but missing, from side control. parker is trying to ground and pound but Boggs uses the momentary lack of control by parker to regain half guard. Boggs is looking to control parker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Boggs avoid being mounted?
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Boggs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and parker counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by parker.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boggs avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. parker trying to control but Boggs is working from the bottom. parker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boggs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boggs has his foot on parker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. parker works his way back into a safe position though. parker is looking to work some ground and pound but Boggs has wrist control. parker in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Boggs has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boggs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boggs doesn't succeed with the takedown and parker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. parker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Boggs is breathing heavily. Boggs working a defensive guard here.
parker wants to pass the guard but Boggs is keeping the position. Boggs keeping moving, preventing parker from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. parker controls from within his opponent's guard. parker trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. parker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. parker working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Boggs with a lazy takedown attempt and parker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Boggs! bruce parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicky Boggs. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. parker punching from mount but Boggs doing a good job of avoiding damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
bruce parker dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
parker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boggs swats him away and circles back towards the center. parker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. parker is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Boggs pulls parker into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boggs working for a triangle but parker defends it easily.
parker throwing strikes from guard but Boggs blocks nicely. Boggs is trying to control the position but parker postures up. Boggs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but parker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Boggs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. parker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boggs's guard. parker throws a strike but Boggs avoids it easily and moves to full guard. bruce parker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. parker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boggs is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. parker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Boggs seems keen to control parker's posture. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as parker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. parker throws a strike but Boggs rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. parker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. parker not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Boggs moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. parker lands a couple of digs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boggs is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boggs pulls parker in to control the position. parker trying to control the position from guard on top but Boggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boggs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. parker stopping the sweep attempt from Boggs. Boggs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. parker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Boggs with a poor takedown and parker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Boggs won't be happy with that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boggs dodges the ground and pound from parker. parker in side control, throwing shots but Boggs defends. Boggs manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Boggs passes to side control. parker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Boggs asserts his dominance and retains side control. bruce parker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. parker manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to bruce parker. Well parker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
