Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Izzy Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes into the arena with Rancid-Last one to Die blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Izzy Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan drops his hands momentarily and Davis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Davis lands a head kick!
Davis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch but Davis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Davis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ryan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Davis.
Davis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ryan circles away quickly and effectively.
Davis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Davis misses with the combination.
Ryan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Davis checks a leg kick.
Ryan blocks a jab.
Davis fails with the takedown.
Ryan throws a series of punches but Davis avoids them all with ease.
Davis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ryan!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis won't let Ryan get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Davis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ryan is on top in guard.
Ryan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ryan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ryan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ryan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Davis is proving hard to escape from.
Davis is looking for a triangle but Ryan pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Davis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Ryan throwing strikes but missing.
Davis looking for a guillotine here but Ryan defends easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ryan tries to stand but Davis is controlling from the bottom.
Davis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryan is aware though and is defending well.
Ryan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Davis has his foot on Ryan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ryan works his way back into a safe position though.

Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Ryan moves out of range easily.
Nate Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ryan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ryan tries to break free but Davis pushes him back against the cage.
Ryan wants to get back to striking at distance but Davis won't allow it.

Nate Davis dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Davis lands a really nice looking cross but Ryan seems unphased.

Ryan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Davis slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Davis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Davis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ryan.
Davis lands with a kick to the temple. Ryan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

A looping hook to the body misses from Ryan. Davis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ryan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Davis.

and Davis counters with a one-two to the body.
Davis stalks Ryan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ryan's face. Ryan staggers backwards, shaken.

Nice uppercut lands for Davis. That snapped Ryan's head back.
Davis is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Ryan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ryan. Ryan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Davis throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nice uppercut lands for Davis. That snapped Ryan's head back.
Davis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Davis works over Ryan with some ground and pound from guard.
Davis drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Davis as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Ryan screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Davis! Nice submission victory there!
