Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Napier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Napier comes to the cage accompanied by Pulse of the Maggots- Slipknot. Jack Napier has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Napier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Kirby! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirby lands with an overhand left. Kirby takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kirby tries to clinch there but Napier circles away.
Kirby swings for the body but Napier moves out of range.
Napier throws a nice outside leg kick. Kirby throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Napier. Crunch! Napier slams his shin into Kirby's torso. Kirby looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kirby takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like John Kirby has been cut. John Kirby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kirby throws a hook but Napier blocks it. Kirby slaps away a takedown attempt from Napier, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kirby motions for Napier to come forward. Kirby throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kirby takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Napier tries to clinch up. Napier closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Napier lands in his opponent's guard. Kirby keeping moving, preventing Napier from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Napier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kirby avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Napier is fighting to break Kirby's control of his arms but Kirby is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Kirby avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Napier trying to control but Kirby is working from the bottom. Napier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Napier stops Kirby from standing up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kirby throws a series of strikes that have Napier backpedaling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kirby looks to score with a jab to the body but Napier is just out of range. Napier looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Napier is keen to just control but Kirby is a slippery customer. Napier slows the pace down in half guard. Kirby looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Napier working Kirby over with strikes. Kirby keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kirby is refusing to be controlled, as Napier sits in half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kirby blocking the ground and pound attempt from Napier. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Napier dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Kirby's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kirby connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Jack Napier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kirby throws a left and a right that both miss
and Napier counters with a nice uppercut. Napier avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Napier changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kirby tries to avoid it but Napier manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kirby to the ground. Kirby escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Napier wants to clinch up but Kirby keeps it at a distance. Jack Napier is winning the standup battle so far. Napier misses with a two punch combination.
Kirby wants to clinch. Kirby scores with a jab to the body. Kirby connects with a crisp jab. Kirby throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kirby lands a big uppercut and Napier crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Napier looks OK. Kirby waves Napier back to his feet!
Napier is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Napier doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Oh Napier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Napier switches off momentarily and Kirby cracks him with a monster right hand! Napier topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Kirby dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Kirby!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Kirby!
