Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Rikko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alihan Musaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Musaev's choice of entrance music: Kavkaz. Alihan Musaev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ben Rikko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alihan Musaev!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Musaev wants to clinch.
Musaev shoots in but Rikko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Musaev throws a leg kick but Rikko sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Musaev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Musaev.
Ben Rikko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alihan Musaev.
Musaev misses with a takedown attempt - Rikko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Musaev tries to clinch there but Rikko circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Musaev shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rikko is trying to defend but Musaev finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Musaev is trying to control. Rikko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rikko wants to get back to his feet.
Rikko tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Musaev manages to move to mount!
Rikko wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rikko trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Musaev trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rikko is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Rikko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rikko tries to get out of the position.
Musaev looks gassed!
Musaev throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
You get the feeling that Rikko really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Rikko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Musaev throws some wild stikes that Rikko manages to avoid easily.
Musaev is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rikko can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rikko is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Rikko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Musaev on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rikko holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Musaev tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Musaev wants to control the pace but Rikko is squirming around nicely.
Rikko is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Musaev looking to control but Rikko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alihan Musaev dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Musaev shoots for a double leg takedown but Rikko sprawls well. He's pushed Musaev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Musaev dodges the punch combination from Rikko.
Rikko tries to bum rush Musaev with a series of wild strikes but Musaev uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Musaev looks for a takedown but Rikko sprawls well.
Musaev tries to close the distance and clinch but Rikko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rikko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Musaev.
Ben Rikko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alihan Musaev.
Rikko keeps the fight on the outside.

Rikko throws a nice looking combination but Musaev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Musaev shoots in but no luck this time.
Rikko scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Musaev doesn't seem bothered though.

Rikko clobbers Musaev with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Musaev is breathing heavily.
Rikko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Musaev.
Rikko scores with a jab to the body.
Alihan Musaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rikko throws a one two combo.


It looks like Alihan Musaev has been cut.
A punch combination from Rikko misses.
Rikko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Rikko scores with a three punch combo!
Rikko swinging wildly here.
Rikko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Musaev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rikko connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Rikko throws a nice looking combination but Musaev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Musaev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rikko scores with the left hand. Musaev knows he should have avoided that one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rikko scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Rikko with a hook.
Rikko scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Musaev dodges the punch combination from Rikko.
Rikko misses with a two punch combination.
Rikko punishes Musaev's body with a nice straight punch.
Rikko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Musaev.
Rikko throws a one two combo.
Musaev has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Musaev moves forwards but Rikko connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rikko looks to land a combination. Musaev sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Rikko scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


Musaev is rocked!
Rikko is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Musaev hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ben Rikko!
