The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Poe Jr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Freeman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Freeman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Poe Jr, pushing him back against the cage.

Freeman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Catcher Freeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poe Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Freeman sprawls well. Freeman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Poe Jr gets slowly back to his feet.

Poe Jr changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Freeman fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Freeman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Poe Jr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Freeman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Poe Jr on the ground.

Oh but Poe Jr is tightening it up a little... Freeman has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Freeman reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Freeman taps out! nice BJJ there by Poe Jr!
