PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Graham Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Hargo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Graham Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricky Hargo!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Brown gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hargo to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Brown can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hargo controls the pace.

Brown is looking to stand up but Hargo isn't so interested in that idea.
Hargo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brown's head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hargo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brown as he jumps to the side.
Brown throws a right hand that Hargo ducks under and follows up with a left that Hargo also avoids with ease.
Brown throws a head kick that misses.
Brown displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hargo.
Graham Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brown throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hargo.

Brown looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hargo closes the distance and clinches.

Brown jumps guard and drags Hargo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hargo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
I looks like Hargo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hargo escapes and gets back to his feet.

Hargo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Brown's half guard.
Hargo uses his free foot to push down on Brown's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brown.
Hargo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hargo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brown tries to keep at a distance but Hargo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hargo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hargo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hargo is staying tight to Brown's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ricky Hargo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hargo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brown sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hargo somewhat.

Hargo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brown paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brown takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Hargo looks to land a combination but Brown avoids it well.
Graham Brown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Brown thows a body shot but no joy.
Hargo blocks a head kick by Brown.
Hargo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brown swivels and escapes.
Hargo doesn't manage to clinch there - Brown circles away.
Brown throws a left and a right that both miss

so Hargo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown can't keep his opponent in guard - Hargo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Brown won't allow Hargo to pass to mount.

Hargo tries to pass to full mount but Brown defends it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hargo stalling away here and it's allowed Brown to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Hargo stands up and waves to Brown to follow him.

Hargo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hargo lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hargo tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Hargo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Hargo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hargo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A lull in the action here as Hargo stalls from top position.
Brown is trying to control Hargo's posture but Hargo avoids it.

Hargo is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Brown's shoulder. That is not cool.
Brown is looking for a sweep.
Hargo content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

You can see the frustration on Brown's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Ricky Hargo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hargo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
