Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Caldwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, For Win! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Win keeps the fight on the outside. Caldwin stalks Win and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Win's face. Win staggers backwards, shaken. Caldwin closes the distance and clinches. Caldwin lands a knee to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Caldwin with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Caldwin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Win shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Caldwin pinned against the cage. Caldwin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Win changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Caldwin tries to avoid it but Win manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Caldwin to the ground. Caldwin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Win looks gassed! Win swats away the attempt to clinch by Caldwin. Win avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Caldwin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The fight stays on the outside here - Caldwin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Caldwin stuffs the takedown. Shane Caldwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of For Win. Win keeps the fight on the outside. Caldwin wants to clinch up but Win keeps it at a distance. Win fails with a takedown attempt. Caldwin slaps away a takedown attempt from Win, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caldwin fails in his attempt to clinch. Shane Caldwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Caldwin forces Win back against the cage and clinches. Caldwin scores with a shot to the side of Win's head. Caldwin drops Win with a big knee straight up the middle! Win is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
It looks like For Win has been cut. Caldwin feints a jab and as Win dips his head, Caldwin unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Win right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Win falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Caldwin smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Shane Caldwin!
