The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griggs takes a swing at Carter's ribcage but misses.
Carter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Carter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Carter is trying to get an arm triangle but Griggs is defending well.

Carter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Griggs knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Griggs is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carter asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Carter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Griggs, who protects the arm well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Griggs is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Carter take his back! Uh oh - Carter has got a rear naked choke here! Griggs is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!
