Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Epson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller's entrance music is Play That Funky Music. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Martin Epson!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Epson on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Epson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Miller is looking to improve his position.
Miller won't allow Epson to pass to mount.
Miller is looking to escape.
Miller is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Epson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Epson is pressing down on Miller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Miller is holding on for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Miller tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Epson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Miller is trying to stand back up but Epson is controlling him
Epson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Miller knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Miller really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Epson tries to pass to full mount but Miller defends it.
Miller is looking for a sweep. Epson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Epson shoots for a takedown but Miller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Epson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Miller did well to prevent Epson getting side control.

Epson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Tony Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miller is breathing heavily.
Miller fails with an attempt to clinch.

Epson stuffs the takedown attempt from Miller. Miller gets slowly back to his feet.

Epson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Epson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Miller's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Miller is looking for a sweep.
Miller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Miller is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Epson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Miller is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Epson shoots in and bounces Miller off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Miller is striking from the bottom but Epson uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Miller flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Epson drops an elbow to the side of Miller's head.
Epson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Epson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Martin Epson.

Epson gets a takedown into half guard.
Miller is pressing down on Epson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Epson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miller has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Epson has managed to get both his arms back between Miller's legs - danger averted.
Epson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Epson cracks Miller with a solid left hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Epson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Miller shoots in for a double leg but Epson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Epson darts in and clinches Miller up against the cage.

Epson is trying to trip Miller. He has hold of a leg but Miller is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Epson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Epson stands and steps away. Miller gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Miller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A lazy body kick from Epson

and Miller moves into the clinch.

Epson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Epson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Epson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Epson looks for the body kick but Miller saw that one coming.
Miller doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Epson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Miller won't be happy with that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin Epson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Epson.

Miller decides to pull guard.
Miller controls Epson momentarily but Epson frees himself.

Miller trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Miller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Epson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Miller dives on top into guard.
Miller throws a big right hand that misses.

Epson is looking for a triangle but Miller pushes his legs off easily.
Miller has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Epson is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice sprawl there from Epson as Miller shoots in.

Epson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Epson stops Miller from standing up.

Epson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Epson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miller was covering up waiting for the punch and Epson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Epson won't allow Miller to sweep him here.

Epson postures up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Epson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Miller looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Epson is stalling in the full guard.
Martin Epson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Miller can't keep his opponent in guard - Epson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tony Miller has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Martin Epson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Martin Epson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Epson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
