Sosa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Maria Conchita - Vamos A Bailar. Denny Scott has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Denny Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alejandro Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Sosa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Scott tries to lock up and control but Sosa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Scott is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Sosa stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Scott doesn't manage to clinch there - Sosa circles away.
Sosa misses with a wild combination.
Scott tries to clinch up but Sosa circles away and keeps his distance.

Sosa moves into range and clinches up with Scott.
Sosa tries to break the clinch but Scott is controlling the position.
Scott has Sosa pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sosa manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Sosa wants a takedown but no success here.

Sosa breaks the clinch.
Scott scores with a sloppy right hand. Sosa should have avoided that one.
Scott goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott tries for a takedown but Sosa circles away easily

and Sosa counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Sosa is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sosa wants to stand up but Scott is controlling the position.
Scott is trying to stand up here but Sosa is controlling him well.
Scott is breathing heavily.

Sosa decides to return to a standing position.
Sosa sizes up Scott with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Scott wants to clinch but Sosa slips to the side
and Sosa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Sosa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scott is defending against the submission attempts here by Sosa.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Sosa seems content to control.
Scott wants to control but Sosa is keeping busy.
Sosa passes the guard and advances to mount!

Sosa stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Sosa fails with the takedown.
Scott looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Scott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sosa counters with a single leg into guard. Scott didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Denny Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Scott throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Scott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sosa is one step ahead there.
Sosa postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sosa prevents Scott from getting back to his feet.

Sosa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Scott is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sosa, into his guard.

Scott decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sosa, up you get!
Scott swats away the attempt to clinch by Sosa.
Sosa throws a left and a right that both miss

and Scott counters by clinching up.
Scott can't get the takedown.
Sosa is trying to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scott stalling in the clinch but Sosa improves position.

Scott jumps guard.
Sosa tries to stand but Scott is controlling from the bottom.
Sosa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Scott is keeping the position for now.
Sosa throws and elbow that misses. Scott uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sosa's guard. Nice move by Scott!
Sosa wants to get back to his feet but Scott is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Scott as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Sosa screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Scott! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Denny Scott!
