The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fire decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Fire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Christ is just riding it out for now. Fire eventually gives up the hold. Fire not landing any meaningful shots this time. Christ looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Christ tries to roll over but Fire keeps him under control. Fire thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Christ's head. Christ is trying to maintain the position but Fire is very close to passing his half guard. Christ taking some punishment here, with Fire in his half guard. Fire is trying to work for a kimura but Christ is defending well.

Fire pushing down on Christ's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Fire throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Fire missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Christ is trying to get back to full guard. Fire is working for a kimura but Christ is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fire thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Christ flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Christ shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fire counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fire thows a huge punch but Christ dodges it nicely.

Christ slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Fire working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Fire got a little sloppy there for a moment and Christ has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fire has managed to get both his arms back between Christ's legs - danger averted. Christ manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Fire is looking to get to half guard. Fire wants to control but Christ is having none of it. Christ lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Christ punching from mount but Fire doing a good job of avoiding damage. Christ lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fire hang on? Fire wants to control but Christ is having none of it. Christ prevents Fire from getting the reversal. Christ looking to finish with strikes here!

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Christ breaks from Fire's wrist control and lands an elbow. A nice elbow there by Christ. Christ lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesus Christ will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Christ doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fire counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fire. Fire stopping the sweep attempt from Christ. Fire missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Fire drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Christ manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fire has Christ in his guard. Fire is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Christ gets back to full guard.
Christ controls Fire momentarily but Fire frees himself. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Christ is looking for a triangle but Fire pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fire being controlled here momentarily. Christ had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fire defends it easily. Fire drops back looking for a leg! Christ is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Christ manages to kick Fire off! Fire jumps back into Christ's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fire drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fire jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Fire with a nice head shot there. Fire has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Christ to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Fire is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Christ pulls down on the head and he's put Fire to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ retains his bantamweight title!
