Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Edison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Pembelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pembelton has chosen Hail Mary as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Edison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Pembelton! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Edison. No joy for Pembelton on that attempt. Edison moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Edison could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Edison misses with a few strikes there.
Edison goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Edison has Pembelton up against the cage in a clinch.
Edison breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pembelton fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Edison shoots and misses and Pembelton counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Edison is trying to keep Pembelton in close.
Edison is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pembelton is controlling him. Edison on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Edison tries to get out of the position. Edison is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pembelton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pembelton thows a big elbow that misses. Pembelton sitting in guard here, content to control. Edison wants to stand and escape but Pembelton is having none of it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Edison lands with a kick to the ribs.
Pembelton shoots in but Edison avoids the takedown attempt easily. Thomas Edison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Pembelton. Edison stuffs the takedown attempt from Pembelton. Pembelton gets slowly back to his feet. Pembelton looks gassed! Pembelton looks for a takedown but Edison sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edison scores with a push kick. Edison smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Pembelton looks for a takedown but Edison sprawls well. Pembelton misses with a takedown attempt and Edison counters with a good low kick that Pembelton was not able to check. Pembelton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Edison lands a nice shot to the body.
Edison's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Edison duly obliges. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Edison throws a head kick but Pembelton moves out of range.
Edison tries for a takedown but Pembelton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Pembelton shoots for a double leg takedown but Edison sprawls well. He's pushed Pembelton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Edison keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pembelton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Edison tries to avoid it but Pembelton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Edison to the ground. Edison escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Edison dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pembelton. That did some damage! Edison gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Pembelton connects with a couple of short punches.
Edison is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pembelton with a nice head shot there. Oh Edison is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pembelton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pembelton is working Edison over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Edison wants to stand up but Pembelton is controlling him. Edison can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pembelton controls the pace. Pembelton postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pembelton won't allow Edison to get back to his feet. Pembelton is in close to Edison's body, working some short punches and elbows. Pembelton with a nice head shot there. Pembelton scoring with punches to the head and body. Pembelton with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Edison has momentary wrist control but Pembelton slips an elbow through the middle. Pembelton stands up and waves to Edison to follow him. Edison pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pembelton shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Pembelton slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Pembelton lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Frank Pembelton!
