Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jona Than (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Foreman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Than is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jona Than! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Foreman! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foreman moves into the clinch successfully.
Than looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Than stops a takedown attempt from Foreman.
Foreman tries to land knees in the clinch but Than avoids the damage to the body. Foreman is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Foreman can't get the takedown.
Foreman misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Than.
Than has Foreman pressed against the cage, preventing Foreman from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Foreman tries to land knees in the clinch but Than avoids the damage to the body. Foreman jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Foreman pulls Than in close to prevent any damage. Foreman is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Foreman has control of Than's left arm, preventing Than from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foreman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Foreman wants to stand up but Than is controlling him. Than trying to control the position from guard on top but Foreman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Foreman controlling the position. Foreman looking for a guillotine here but Than defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Foreman working for a triangle but Than defends it easily.
Than won't allow Foreman to get back to his feet.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Foreman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Than tries to avoid it but Foreman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Than to the ground. Than escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jona Than has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Foreman. Foreman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foreman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Than tries to avoid it but Foreman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Than to the ground. Than escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Than could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Than fails with the takedown and Foreman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Than gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Foreman to score an easy takedown into full guard. Than is trying to keep Foreman in close.
Foreman trying to control the position from guard on top but Than is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Foreman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Than swivels though and keeps the full guard. Foreman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Than is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Foreman wants to get up but he can't break Than's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Foreman dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Foreman misses with a head kick.
Foreman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Foreman showed some decent athleticism there. Foreman content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Foreman throwing shots but Than is blocking nicely. Foreman controlling the action here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Let's hope that Foreman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Foreman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Than. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foreman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Foreman. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Foreman controlling the pace. Foreman wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Than wants to get back to his feet.
Than trying to control but Foreman postures up.
Well, if Foreman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Foreman seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Foreman drives through with a takedown into guard. Foreman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Than looking to control.
Foreman wants to pass the guard but Than is keeping the position. Foreman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Foreman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Than wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Foreman is now in half guard. Foreman seems to be working for a kimura but Than defends the submission attempt. Than manages to get to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Foreman wants to stand and escape but instead Than has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Foreman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Than is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Foreman. Foreman moves into the clinch. Foreman wants to break the clinch but can't.
Than keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Foreman's efforts to push away. Foreman tries to score a body lock takedown but Than shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Foreman gets control of Than's arms and successfully pulls guard. Foreman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Foreman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Foreman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Than is one step ahead there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foreman keeping moving, preventing Than from controlling successfully. Foreman is adopting a defensive guard. Than tries to stand but Foreman is controlling from the bottom. Foreman pushes Than off and scrambles back to his feet.
Foreman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Than, pushing him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Foreman leaning against his opponent.

Foreman lands a body shot. Foreman slowing the pace effectively. Foreman tries to score a body lock takedown but Than shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A frustrated look appears on Than's face as he tries to break the clinch. Foreman pulls guard successfully.
Than is looking to work some ground and pound but Foreman has wrist control. Than trying to control but Foreman is working from the bottom. Than chips away with some ground and pound. Than pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Foreman is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Than drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Than jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Foreman wants to stand but Than is controlling the position. Foreman is trying to keep Than in close.
Than wants to control from the top but Foreman keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Foreman misses with a takedown attempt - Than sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jona Than has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Foreman. Foreman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Than counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Foreman's guard now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Foreman wants to stand up but Than is controlling him. Foreman working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Than. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Foreman holds on and takes a little breather. Than sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Foreman's guard. Foreman wants to get back to full guard but Than has mounted him! Than looking to control but Foreman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jona Than has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! George Foreman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Foreman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jona Than showed his dominance in that final round. I think Foreman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
