PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cimbro Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Smelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smelly comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Calypso kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smelly throws a right and a left that Slice avoids nicely.
Nice shot by Slice.
Brad Smelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Slice.
Smelly lands a head kick. Slice smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Slice looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Slice shoots for a double leg takedown but Smelly sprawls well. He's pushed Slice's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smelly tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smelly throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Slice shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smelly as he jumps to the side.

Smelly is leaning against Slice and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Smelly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Slice changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smelly tries to avoid it but Slice manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smelly to the ground. Smelly escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smelly throws a leg kick which misses Slice's front leg but catches the back leg as Slice tries to avoid it.

Smelly lands a jab to Slice's midsection.
Smelly is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Slice rather than just go for the knockout.
Smelly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smelly throws a series of punches but Slice avoids them all with ease.

Horrible takedown by Slice or perhaps it was just good defense by Smelly which made him look bad.

Smelly closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smelly escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smelly throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Slice displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smelly throws out the jab.
Slice shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smelly as he jumps to the side.
Smelly tries to close the distance and clinch but Slice swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Slice avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Slice. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Slice shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smelly sprawls well. Smelly wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slice gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smelly misses with a hook. Slice ducked under it nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Smelly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Smelly stalks Slice and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Slice's face. Slice staggers backwards, shaken.

and Slice decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smelly's guard.

Slice postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Smelly is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Slice, into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smelly gets to his feet - Slice follows without any prompting.

Slice uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smelly.
Smelly tries to bum rush Slice with a series of wild strikes but Slice uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Slice is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smelly sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Slice closes the distance and clinches up with Smelly, looking for a takedown. Slice pushes Smelly against the cage but Smelly circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Smelly throws a right and a left that Slice avoids nicely.
Slice shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smelly pinned against the cage. Smelly gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
