Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Jacko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pelayo Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Jacko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pelayo Palhares!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacko scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Palhares on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Jacko throws a body punch but Palhares moves out of range.
Palhares closes the distance and clinches up with Jacko, looking for a takedown. Palhares pushes Jacko against the ropes but Jacko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Palhares uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jacko.
Palhares throws a hook but Jacko blocks it.
Palhares shoots in looking for a takedown. Jacko tries to sprawl out of it but Palhares keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Jacko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jacko works Palhares's body with a nice hook.
Palhares throws an overhand right that lands on Jacko's shoulder, as Jacko tries to avoid the shot.
Jacko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jacko throws a front kick aimed at Palhares's knee but Palhares avoids it well.
Jacko buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Palhares takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jacko blocks a jab.
Jacko throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Palhares takes a kick to the side of the head.
Jacko misses with a wild body shot.
Jacko throws a combination. Palhares tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Pelayo Palhares has been cut.
James Jacko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Palhares is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jacko's half guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Palhares closes the distance and clinches up with Jacko, looking for a takedown. Palhares pushes Jacko against the ropes but Jacko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jacko is looking to wear down Palhares with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Horrible takedown by Palhares or perhaps it was just good defense by Jacko which made him look bad.

Jacko stuffs the takedown attempt from Palhares. Palhares gets slowly back to his feet.
Palhares takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Jacko fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jacko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palhares.

Palhares closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jacko to the mat! Jacko manages to get full guard.

Jacko is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Jacko will probably get the nod.

Palhares wants to pass the guard but Jacko is defending well.
Jacko is looking for a sweep. Palhares is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jacko manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Palhares is desperately trying to improve his position but Jacko has a good base and remains in mount.

Jacko slows the pace down in half guard.

Jacko is fighting to break Palhares's control of his arms but Palhares is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jacko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Palhares has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jacko has managed to get both his arms back between Palhares's legs - danger averted.
Palhares takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Palhares loads up on a big right hand but Jacko slips the punch.
Jacko wants to slow Palhares down by chopping away at his legs.
Palhares tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jacko swivels and escapes.
James Jacko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pelayo Palhares.
Jacko connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jacko connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Palhares momentarily.
Palhares shoots for a takedown but Jacko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Jacko.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jacko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
