The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valenzuela is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Plant.
Valenzuela throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slow jab from Valenzuela misses its intended target.
Plant throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Valenzuela sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Plant misses the body punch
and Valenzuela counters with a nice body shot.
Valenzuela misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Plant.
Plant thows a body shot but no joy.
Plant takes one on the button.
Plant dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Valenzuela misses with a double jab.
Plant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Valenzuela tries to avoid it but Plant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Valenzuela to the ground. Valenzuela escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Plant throws a jab but it's blocked by Valenzuela.
Valenzuela slips a straight right by Plant.
Valenzuela works Plant's body with a nice hook.
Valenzuela just misses with a punch to the body.
Valenzuela throws a jab when Plant was well out of range.
Plant scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mateus Valenzuela seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Valenzuela looks to land a combination but Plant avoids it well.
Valenzuela fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Valenzuela throws a lazy right hand but Plant sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

A frustrated look appears on Valenzuela's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Plant.
Plant lands a good knee to the midsection. Valenzuela won't want to take too many of those.
Plant wants the takedown. Valenzuela is fighting it off but Plant persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Valenzuela's guard against the cage.
Valenzuela on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Valenzuela tries to get out of the position.

Valenzuela knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Plant on the ground.

Plant is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Valenzuela is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Valenzuela has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Valenzuela has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Plant is proving hard to escape from.
Plant pulls Valenzuela in close to his closed guard and prevents Valenzuela from doing any damage or advancing position.
Valenzuela would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Plant manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Plant looking to control but Valenzuela is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Valenzuela wants to get back to his feet.
Plant moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Valenzuela has worked his arm free - good work by Valenzuela!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Plant throwing strikes but Valenzuela manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Plant is trying to control Valenzuela's posture but Valenzuela avoids it.

Plant tries to bum rush Valenzuela with a series of wild strikes but Valenzuela uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Plant takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Plant takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Plant connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Valenzuela has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Valenzuela is trying to break the clinch but Plant has him pressed against the cage.
Plant lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Valenzuela's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Valenzuela ducks right into an uppercut from Plant.
No joy there for Valenzuela, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Valenzuela drops Plant with a beautiful combination! Plant stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Valenzuela is looking for the KO!
Plant is rocked!
It looks like Marcus Plant has been cut.
Plant uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Valenzuela.
Plant is still on wobbly legs! Can Valenzuela finish him?
Valenzuela lands with a right and another and another! Plant is in big trouble! Valenzuela lands again and this time it's lights out for Plant! A quality knockout there for Valenzuela.
