Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Red! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Tank! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Tank with that takedown attempt. Tank looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Tank fails with a takedown attempt. Red shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tank napping and manages to drive through into side control! Red in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Red is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tank is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Red landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Red tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Tank is not content to let Red control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tank can do anything to dispel that myth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Red throwing shots but missing, from side control. Red looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Red controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Red working the ground and pound from side control. Red wants to control but Tank is keeping him busy. Red is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tank is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Red throwing shots but missing, from side control. Red working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Tank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Red. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Red sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Tank is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Red politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Red prefers to stall for the moment though. Red is looking to take a break and control but Tank is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joe Red. Red throws a head kick but Tank moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tank swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Red moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Red shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tank but Tank pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mike Tank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Red looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Tank! Tank defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Red. Red scoring with strikes but Tank is staying in there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Red dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Red doesn't manage to clinch there - Tank circles away.
Red gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Tank changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Red fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Red fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Red darts in and clinches Tank up against the cage. Red lands a body shot. Knees in the clinch landing for Red.

A nice left hand lands by Red.

Red lands an elbow inside that Tank shrugs off.
It looks like Mike Tank has been cut. Red pulls guard successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Red is on top in guard.
Red wants to control from the top but Tank keeps moving. Tank is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Red in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Red thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Red with a flurry of punches that miss. Red wants to pass the guard but Tank is keeping the position. Red trying to control but Tank is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Red gets to his feet. Tank looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Tank misses with a two punch combination.
Red throws a right and a left that both miss. Tank takes a kick to the side of the head. Tank shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Red counters with a leg kick. Red connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Red tries to work over Tank's front leg with a kick but Tank checks it. Red shoots in for a double leg but Tank sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Tank swats away the attempt to clinch by Red. Tank slips a jab and a cross from Red.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Red shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Tank doesn't succeed with the takedown and Red counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tank! Joe Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Tank. Red with shots to the head and body - Tank looks very uncomfortable down there. Red wants to finish this one by submission but Tank is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Red. Red cracks Tank with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Red tries to control but Tank wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Red working for a guillotine from mount but Tank is in no mood to give up. Red landing strikes, looking to finish! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Red dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Mike Tank's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Red looks for a takedown but Tank sprawls well. Red lands a big head kick that sends Tank tumbling to the mat! Red takes a step backwards and waves Tank back to his feet - he wants the finish! Red lands a left and a right that sends Tank crashing to the canvas! Red dives into mount looking to finish!
Tank is rocked!
That has opened up Mike Tank's cut even more. This has been an exciting period of action! Red cracks Tank with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Red!
