Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Remy LeBeau! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Reyes! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyes slaps away a takedown attempt from LeBeau, before circling back to the center of the mat. Reyes punishes LeBeau's body with a nice straight punch. Reyes throws a hook but LeBeau blocks it. Reyes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Reyes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from LeBeau. Reyes throws a wild combination but nothing lands. LeBeau really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Reyes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. LeBeau looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reyes is fending him off so far but LeBeau persists. Nope, Reyes circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Remy LeBeau. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reyes lands with an uppercut that bounces LeBeau off the cage and back into rage. LeBeau tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reyes swivels and escapes. Reyes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
LeBeau moves away from the strike by Reyes. LeBeau ducks under a wild hook from Reyes. Reyes fails to land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. LeBeau moves away from the strike by Reyes. LeBeau shoots for a takedown but Reyes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Reyes connects with the punch. Reyes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from LeBeau. A left and a right from Reyes both land. Nice combination. Reyes lands a hook that stumbles LeBeau back into the cage. Reyes follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping LeBeau to the canvas! Reyes pounces and lands several unanswered shots - LeBeau has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
