Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Top Team! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonny Makerov! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Team throws a push kick but Makerov slaps the foot to one side. Team misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Makerov throws a lazy head kick and Team counters with a flying knee. Nice. Makerov lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jab from Makerov. Makerov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Team is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Makerov is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Team tries to lock up and control but Makerov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Team keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Top Team will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jonny Makerov's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Team is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Team throws a sloppy head kick and Makerov moves out of range easily. Makerov circles away from the clinch attempt.

Team throws a lazy head kick and Team takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Team connects with a high kick. Top Team seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Team avoids a punch combination nicely.
Makerov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Team to the mat! Team manages to get full guard. Team working a defensive guard but Makerov passes into half guard.
Makerov decides to return to a standing position. Makerov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Team throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Makerov lands an overhand right. Team drops his hands momentarily and Makerov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Makerov finds it's way through Team's defenses. Team dodges the punch combination from Makerov.
The fight stays on the outside here - Team looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Team gets caught flat footed, as Makerov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Team is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Team wants to stand and escape but Makerov is having none of it. Team not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Makerov scores with a jab to the head.

Makerov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Team moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Team throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Makerov looks to land a right hand but Team moved out of range. Makerov lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Makerov dips to his left and cracks Team with an uppercut! Team misses with a low kick. Team takes one on the button. Team tries to clinch up. Team displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Makerov throws out the jab. Makerov thows a left - swing and a miss! Team gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Makerov. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.

Makerov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Team throws a lazy head kick and Makerov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Team throws a head kick that misses. Makerov throws a series of punches but Team moves out of range. Makerov thuds a left hand into Team's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Team. Makerov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Team to the mat! Team manages to get full guard. Team is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Makerov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Team, up you get! Team walks into a jab. Team wants to clinch. Team pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Makerov might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Makerov looks to land a left hand but Team moved out of range nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonny Makerov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Makerov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
