Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ando Easter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Smash Spring! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spring looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Easter is fending him off so far but Spring persists. Nope, Easter circles away and we're back to standing. Easter throws a series of punches but Spring moves out of range. Spring fails to land the takedown. Easter displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Spring shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Easter as he avoids it easily. Ando Easter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Smash Spring. Spring shoots for a takedown but Easter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Easter looks to land a combination but Spring avoids it well. Easter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Easter showed some decent athleticism there. Easter is looking to take a break and control but Spring is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Easter seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Easter trying to control from half guard but Spring is working away. Easter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Spring is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Easter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Spring has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Easter is working away from the top position though. Easter is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Spring with a lazy takedown attempt and Easter counters with a nice uppercut. Easter's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Easter duly obliges. Spring shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Easter is doing well to control the position and prevent Spring from advancing to side control. Spring trying to pass the guard but Easter defending well. Easter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Spring is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Springis looking to pass into half guard but Easter pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Easter is in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Easter wants to stand but Spring is controlling his posture from full guard. Easter wants to stand and escape but instead Spring has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Spring trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Easter manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. No luck with that takedown attempt from Spring. Spring shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Easter counters with a nice double leg into guard. Spring looks gassed! Easter trying to control but Spring is working from the bottom. Easter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Spring is working an open guard so Easter takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Easter throws a right and a left that Spring avoids nicely. Spring has his takedown stuffed and Easter counters with a stiff right hand. Easter scores with the left hand. Spring knows he should have avoided that one. A punch combination from Easter misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ando Easter dominated that round. That's time! Easter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Spring with a lazy takedown attempt and Easter counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Spring! Easter trying to control but Spring is having none of it. Easter controlling the position easily from mount. Spring wants to hold on but Easter pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Easter controlling his opponent. Easter throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Easter tries to control but Spring wriggling away. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spring can do anything to dispel that myth. Easter throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Spring tries to lock up and control but Easter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Easter with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Spring regains half guard. Spring really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Easter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Spring is looking for a sweep. Easter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Spring is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Easter is trying to control. Spring wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Spring avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Easter. Spring blocking the ground and pound attempt from Easter. Spring is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Easter wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Easter stalling.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Spring gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Spring looking to control.

A combination from Easter does no damage. Spring bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Spring has knee on belly momentarily but Easter bucks him off and regains half guard. Spring is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Spring wants to advance to full mount but Easter doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Spring slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Spring tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Easter can't do much from the bottom here. Spring is trying to move to mount but Easter reverses beautifully and ends up in Spring's guard. Easter is stalling in the full guard. Spring can't keep his opponent in guard - Easter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Spring won't allow Easter to pass to mount. Easter has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Spring works to full guard. Spring utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Easter trying to control but Spring is working from the bottom. Easter trying to stand up but can't free himself from Spring's guard. Easter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Easter! Spring moves to his opponent's back but Easter bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for Spring. Easter looking to pass the guard.

Easter stands up and we're back to a striking position. Spring shoots and misses and Easter counters with a three punch combo that has Spring backing up. Spring nods at Easter to acknowledge the strikes. Easter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spring circles away quickly and effectively. Easter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Spring shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Spring is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Easter pushes Spring off looking to stand but Spring dives back in and keeps control.

Ando Easter had his way with Smash Spring in that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Spring wants to control but Easter is keeping busy and won't allow it. Spring is not content to let Easter control the position. Easter throws a strike but Spring avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Easter trying to control the position from guard on top but Spring is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spring has momentary wrist control but Easter slips an elbow through the middle. Spring tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Spring working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Easter. Spring looking for a sweep. Not yet Spring, not yet. Easter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Spring wants to control but Easter passes easily into half guard.
Easter postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Spring to stand up. Spring is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Easter feints and as Spring raises his hands in defense, Easter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spring has a closed guard, preventing Easter from standing up. Easter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Easter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Spring holds on and takes a little breather. Easter preventing the sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Easter wants to control from the top but Spring keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Easter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spring.
And that's the end of the fight! Ando Easter showed his dominance in that final round. Well Easter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
