Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Schiknsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schiknsi comes into the arena with Po Russki blaring out of the sound system. Jackson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Joker & The Thief. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Schiknsi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon Jackson! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Jackson swinging wildly here.
Jackson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Schiknsi. Schiknsi circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Schiknsi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson regains half guard. Schiknsi trying to control from half guard but Jackson is working away. Schiknsi trying to pass the guard but Jackson defending well. Schiknsi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jackson defends it well. Jackson is looking to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jackson thuds a left hand into Schiknsi's body. Jackson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Schiknsi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson scores with a shot to the body.
Schiknsi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes. Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Schiknsi moves out of range easily. Schiknsi closes the distance and pushes Jackson back into the cage. Schiknsi tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage. Schiknsi stalling in the clinch.
Jackson is pressed up against the cage. Schiknsi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jackson down to the mat. Jackson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Schiknsi is breathing heavily. Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Schiknsi shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Schiknsi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Schiknsi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson scores with a jab. Schiknsi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Schiknsi working away. Jackson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Schiknsi is staying active. Jackson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Schiknsi off and has taken his back! Even with his hooks in, Jackson manages to miss with strikes from the back. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Schiknsi fending off the submission attempt from Jackson. Schiknsi is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackson is looking for a rear naked choke here but Schiknsi reverses the position brilliantly into Jackson's guard!
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jon Jackson. Jackson moves out of range as Schiknsi throws a body kick.
Schiknsi is looking to clinch but Jackson is avoiding it.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Schiknsi lands with a nice body kick. Schiknsi tries to clinch up. Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Schiknsi throws a body punch but Jackson moves out of range. A big right from Jackson misses. Schiknsi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schiknsi off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jon Jackson will probably get the nod. That's time! Schiknsi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Schiknsi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jackson connects with a solid leg kick. Schiknsi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schiknsi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Schiknsi. Jackson tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson throws a leg kick which misses Schiknsi's front leg but catches the back leg as Schiknsi tries to avoid it. A nice leg kick lands there from Jackson. Jackson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson lands with a nice combination. Schiknsi backs away looking to recover. Schiknsi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Schiknsi blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Jab from Jackson. Jackson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Schiknsi takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
That's one minute gone in the round. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jackson.
Schiknsi misses with a low kick. Jackson tests Schiknsi's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jackson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Schiknsi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson. A slapping leg kick lands for Jackson.
Schiknsi walks into a jab. Jackson lands a head kick. Schiknsi smiles back at him and beckons him forward. A slapping leg kick lands for Jackson.
This has been an exciting period of action! Nice uppercut lands for Jackson. That snapped Schiknsi's head back.
Schiknsi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Nice shot lands for Jackson. Jackson scores with a spinning back kick! Jackson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jon Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jackson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jackson lands a slapping body shot.

Schiknsi takes a shot right to the bread basket. Jackson swings and misses with a shot to the body and Schiknsi finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Jackson scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schiknsi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jackson cracks the inside of Schiknsi's front leg. Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss. Jackson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Jackson lands a nice hook to Schiknsi's body. Schiknsi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Schiknsi is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. The fighters circle momentarily. Jackson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Jon Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Schiknsi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson. Jackson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Schiknsi takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jackson just misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson thows a body shot but no joy. Schiknsi takes one to the side of the head.
Schiknsi takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jackson throws a nice inside leg kick. Schiknsi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Jackson feints and then cracks Schiknsi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Schiknsi down. Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jackson scores with a spinning back kick! Jackson connects with a right hand. Schiknsi shakes it off. Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jon Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson throws a shot to the body.

Schiknsi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jackson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jackson scores with a leg kick.
Schiknsi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jackson can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson scores with a jab to the head.

Jackson lands with a hook. Schiknsi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Schiknsi slips a jab and a cross from Jackson.
Schiknsi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jackson throws a head kick that Schiknsi semi-blocks.
Igor Schiknsi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Schiknsi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Jackson lands with an uppercut that bounces Schiknsi off the cage and back into rage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Schiknsi slips a straight right by Jackson. Jackson scores with a one two! Schiknsi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Schiknsi is rocked! Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Oh Schiknsi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Schiknsi moves out of range easily. Schiknsi seems to have got his legs back now. Jackson connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Schiknsi! He's out on his feet! Jackson rushes in and drops Schiknsi with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
