The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn takes a jab right on the kisser.
Babineaux connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Babineaux misses with a looping left.
Penn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Babineaux lets loose with a powerful body kick. Penn will feel that in the morning.
Penn looks gassed!
Penn throws a series of punches but Babineaux moves out of range.
Babineaux throws a head kick but Penn moves out of range.
Fred Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Babineaux tries a head kick but it misses.
No joy there for Penn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Babineaux throws a right and a left that both miss.
Penn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Penn has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Fred Penn has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Penn takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Babineaux throws an overhand right that lands on Penn's shoulder, as Penn tries to avoid the shot.
Babineaux lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Penn has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Penn there as he acknowledges the shot.
Penn is rocked!
Penn walks forward, straight into a front kick from Babineaux.
Penn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Whack! Babineaux lands a heavy head kick that drops Penn. The ref tackles Babineaux to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Penn was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Gerard Babineaux!
