Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alesha Super!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nik Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov looks for a takedown but Super sprawls well.
Volkov shoots in for a takedown but Super shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Volkov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Super napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Volkov looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Super is avoiding damage well.
Volkov tries to advance to mount but can't.
Volkov lands an elbow.
Volkov sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Super is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Super tries to buck Volkov off but Volkov is having none of it.
Volkov working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Volkov is trying to get an arm triangle but Super is defending well.
Super avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Volkov.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sloppy strikes there by Volkov.
Volkov controls the position from side control.
The strikes coming from Volkov are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Volkov goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Super has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Volkov but great work by Super.

Volkov sneaks back into half guard.

Volkov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Super landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Volkov is looking to escape.
Super is nestled in close to Volkov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Super missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Volkov preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Super working over Volkov with some ground and pound. Volkov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Super trying to control the action but Volkov is working from the bottom.
Super is thwarting Volkov's attempts to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nik Volkov dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Volkov fails with a takedown attempt.

Volkov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Volkov is trying to control the action in half guard but Super is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Super is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Volkov not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Volkov throwing shots but Super is blocking nicely.
Volkov misses with a head shot. Super uses the momentum to regain guard.
Volkov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Super looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Volkov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Super as he jumps to the side.
Volkov shoots in looking for a takedown. Super tries to sprawl out of it but Volkov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Super manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Alesha Super has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nik Volkov.
Volkov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Super but Super pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Volkov feints and as Super raises his hands in defense, Volkov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Volkov wants to control from the top but Super keeps moving.
Volkov throwing strikes but missing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Super avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Volkov distracts Super with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Volkov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Volkov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Volkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Super swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Volkov trying to control but Super is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nik Volkov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Super's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Volkov shoots in for a takedown but Super shows good takedown defense.
Volkov fails with a takedown attempt.

Volkov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Super knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Volkov on the ground.

Super preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Super is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Volkov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Super works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Volkov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Volkov trying to control but Super is working from the bottom.
Volkov with a nice head shot there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Volkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Super swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Volkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Super is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Volkov cracks Super with a solid left hand.

Volkov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Volkov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Volkov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Volkov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Super is keeping the position for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Volkov shoots in for a double leg but Super sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Alesha Super has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nik Volkov.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Volkov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Volkov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Volkov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Super clinches.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nik Volkov.
I've got Volkov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
