Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Bautista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Larson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Larson keeps the fight on the outside. Bautista moves into range and clinches up with Larson. Bautista has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Larson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Bautista tries for a takedown but Larson manages to get underhooks.
Larson wants to break free but Bautista has control.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Bautista. That's going to take a lot out of him. Larson tries to break the clinch but Bautista is controlling the position. Bautista tightens his grip and picks Larson up, before dumping him to the ground. Larson manages to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bautista trying to control the position from guard on top but Larson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Larson seems keen to control Bautista's posture. Larson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bautista. Bautista thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Larson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Larson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bautista postures up in Larson's guard and throws a big left but Larson blocks it. Larson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bautista. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Larson is wriggling around but Bautista manages to pass to half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bautista slaps away a takedown attempt from Larson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Larson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bautista was covering up waiting for the punch and Larson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Bautista keeping moving, preventing Larson from controlling successfully. Bautista looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bautista is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Larson throws and elbow that misses. Bautista uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Larson's guard. Nice move by Bautista!

Bautista throws a big right hand that misses. Bautista trying to control the position from guard on top but Larson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Larson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bautista! Larson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bautista?

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Larson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dave Bautista's cut is getting worse. Larson controlling the position easily from mount. Bautista blocking the ground and pound. Larson looking to control but Bautista is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larson misses with a head shot. Larson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Jeez, Dave Bautista's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
