Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bill Davies! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Davies. Good exchange - Johnson coming out on top. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davies is defended easily by Johnson. Davies shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Davies keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Charlie Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Davies. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davies shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Davies shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Johnson lands a slapping body shot.
Davies looks gassed! Davies shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Johnson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Johnson duly obliges. Johnson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Davies's head. Davies looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Good standup being displayed there by Johnson as he connects with a hook. Davies tries to move into range but Johnson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Davies takes one on the button. Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet. Davies shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely. Davies gets cracked there but stands up to it.

He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davies off to one side. Good work there by Johnson. Good exchange - Johnson coming out on top. Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Davies off the cage and back into rage. Bill Davies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davies fails with the takedown. Davies tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Davies takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Left hook, right uppercut from Johnson. Johnson cracks a nice hook into Davies's ribs. Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Johnson swinging wildly here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davies is defended easily by Johnson. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Davies might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Johnson has got the better of the exchanges. Davies walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson cracks Davies with a good jab. Johnson leaves Davies with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Charlie Johnson is winning the standup battle so far. A combination from Johnson does no damage. Johnson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Davies on the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson leaves Davies with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johnson throws out a powerful jab. Johnson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Davies in his tracks. Bill Davies has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Charlie Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Johnson lands the left hand. Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davies. Some wild striking there from Johnson.
And that's the end of the fight! Charlie Johnson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
