The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahayev rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pereira moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pereira drops his hands momentarily and Mahayev takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Mahayev throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mahayev misses with the combination.
Pereira pushes Mahayev away with a front kick.
Pereira shoots in for a double leg but Mahayev sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mahayev ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Mahayev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alexey Mahayev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mahayev stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mahayev wants it to stay on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pereira. Mahayev does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pereira takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Mahayev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pereira.
Pereira shoots in but Mahayev avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Pereira shoots in looking for a takedown. Mahayev tries to sprawl out of it but Pereira keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mahayev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pereira moves in looking to clinch but Mahayev pushes him off.

Pereira takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Pereira shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Mahayev stalks Pereira and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pereira's face. Pereira staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pereira drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Pereira takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mahayev moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A right-left combo lands from Mahayev.
Mahayev throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Pereira colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Mahayev as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Pereira is left battered and dazed whilst Mahayev and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexey Mahayev!
