Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Che Guevarra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Trey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Che Guevarra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Trey!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guevarra's waist but Guevarra gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trey off to one side.
Trey tries to bum rush Guevarra with a series of wild strikes but Guevarra uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Trey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Guevarra shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Guevarra was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Trey is trying to stand up.

Trey is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guevarra is breathing heavily.
Trey tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Trey is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Guevarra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trey is looking to improve his position but Guevarra isn't that keen on the idea.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Guevarra content just to control the position here.
Trey is squirming around, avoiding Guevarra's attempts to control the action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Che Guevarra just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Guevarra counters with a nice double leg into side control. Trey won't be happy with that.
A lull in the action here as Guevarra stalls from top position.
Guevarra tries to move to mount but Trey blocks the move with his legs.
Trey wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Trey is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Guevarra asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Guevarra is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Guevarra's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Guevarra decides to stand up, so the ref orders Trey to his feet.

Guevarra is really struggling to control Trey but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Guevarra won't let Trey get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Guevarra has control of Trey's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Trey regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Trey gets caught flat footed, as Guevarra shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Trey wants to stand but Guevarra is controlling the position.

Trey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Guevarra is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Trey lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Trey tries to bum rush Guevarra with a series of wild strikes but Guevarra uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Guevarra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Trey as he avoids it easily.

Guevarra looking to control but Trey is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Che Guevarra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Guevarra prevents Trey from getting the reversal.
Guevarra takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Guevarra stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Guevarra shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trey's guard.
Trey looking for a sweep. Not yet Trey, not yet.
Trey controls Guevarra momentarily but Guevarra frees himself.
Guevarra looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Trey is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Guevarra is controlling him.
Trey trying to keep a closed guard but Guevarra is proving a slippery customer.
Trey has control of Guevarra's left arm, preventing Guevarra from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Guevarra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Trey lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Trey.
Guevarra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Trey is fending him off so far but Guevarra persists. Nope, Trey circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Che Guevarra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trey scores with the left hand. Guevarra knows he should have avoided that one.
Trey lands a hook that stumbles Guevarra back into the cage. Trey follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Guevarra to the canvas! Trey pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Guevarra has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
