Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Nietes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincenzo Virga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donnie Nietes could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vincenzo Virga's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Nietes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vincenzo Virga!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nietes closes the distance and clinches up with Virga, looking for a takedown. Nietes pushes Virga against the cage but Virga circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Virga throws and low kick but Nietes moves out of range easily.
Virga swinging wildly here.
Nietes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Virga tries to avoid it but Nietes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Virga to the ground. Virga escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nietes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Virga as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie Nietes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Virga misses with the combination.

Nietes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nietes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Virga is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nietes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Virga is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Virga jumps guard but Nietes stands there with Virga around his waist. Virga gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nietes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Virga avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Virga's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nietes.

Nietes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Virga escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nietes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Virga is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Nietes has his hands clasped together but Virga extends an breaks Nietes's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Virga.
