Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Chunk Splitso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Policarpio Mendoza! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Splitso looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mendoza drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mendoza wants to stand but Splitso has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. Splitso keeping moving, preventing Mendoza from controlling successfully. Splitso looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mendoza wants to control from the top but Splitso keeps moving. Splitso had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mendoza defends it easily. Mendoza controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Splitso keeping moving, preventing Mendoza from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Splitso misses with a takedown and Mendoza counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mendoza. Splitso on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Mendoza changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Splitso fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Splitso shoots and misses and Mendoza counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chunk Splitso. That's going to take a lot out of him. Splitso keeping moving, preventing Mendoza from controlling successfully. Mendoza has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Splitso is proving hard to escape from. Mendoza looks gassed! Mendoza throwing strikes from guard but Splitso blocks nicely. Mendoza slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Splitso has his feet on Mendoza's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Splitso misses with a takedown attempt and Mendoza decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Splitso's guard. Mendoza must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Splitso keeping moving, preventing Mendoza from controlling successfully. Splitso is adopting a defensive guard. Mendoza trying to control the position from guard on top but Splitso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Splitso looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Mendoza wants to stand but Splitso is controlling his posture from full guard. Splitso uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Splitso closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Policarpio Mendoza dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Splitso wants to clinch and Mendoza counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Splitso fails with the takedown and Mendoza counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mendoza. A battle for position here, against the cage. Mendoza tries to pull guard but Splitso holds him up against the cage and eventually Mendoza drops back down to his feet.
Splitso has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mendoza avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Splitso is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mendoza pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chunk Splitso. That's going to take a lot out of him. Splitso's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Splitso gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mendoza to score an easy takedown into full guard. Splitso is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mendoza is aware though and is defending well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mendoza throws a big right hand that misses. Mendoza working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Splitso manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mendoza tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mendoza wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Splitso looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Splitso quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Splitso but it's paid off an Mendoza is forced to tap! Nice work by Splitso.
