Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mongo Smash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jermaine Rashad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smash closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rashad tries to pull guard but Smash holds him up against the cage and eventually Rashad drops back down to his feet.
Smash has clasped his hands together around Rashad's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Rashad manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Rashad blocks the strikes from Smash.
Rashad is thwarting Smash's attempts to control the position.
Rashad is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smash doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rashad.
Smash wants to control but Rashad is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Smash has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rashad is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smash is really struggling to control Rashad but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Rashad tries to free his leg and advance position but Smash is retaining full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Smash fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rashad, pushing him back against the cage.
Smash breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rashad tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rashad drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smash pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mongo Smash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jermaine Rashad.
Smash closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Smash is looking to take a break and control but Rashad is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rashad is looking for a sweep.

Rashad pushes Smash away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smash gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Smash is looking to take a break and control but Rashad is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Smash lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
You can see the frustration on Rashad's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Smash is putting a hurting on Rashad here, landing some big shots from side control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smash cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Rashad wants to control but Smash is having none of it.
Rashad sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Rashad wants to improve his position but Smash is controlling well.
Rashad misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Smash prevents Rashad from improving his position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Smash prevents Rashad from standing back up.
Rashad is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Rashad is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rashad is staying active underneath Smash, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rashad moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rashad shoots and misses
so Smash counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Smash connects with a couple of short punches.
Smash stands up over Rashad, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Smash stays in close to Rashad's body and controls the position.
Smash passes into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mongo Smash dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Smash shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Smash slips a nice elbow through Rashad's hands, connecting with Rashad's forehead.
Smash is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Rashad wants to control but Smash is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Smash is pressing down on Rashad's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rashad is holding on for now.

Smash looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rashad is breathing heavily.

Smash advances to mount.
Rashad is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Smash is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rashad can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rashad is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Smash connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Smash is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rashad's shoulder. That is not cool.

Smash tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Smash has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rashad's face.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Smash is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rashad can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Rashad has left one of his arms exposed and Smash doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Rashad screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
