Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nasty Nedser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Booker! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nedser slaps away a takedown attempt from Booker, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nedser fails to land with a series of punches.
Nedser really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nedser will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Booker fails with a takedown attempt. Left hook, right uppercut from Nedser.
It looks like David Booker has been cut. Nedser misses the jab. Nedser missing with a left hand there. Booker was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Booker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nedser's guard. Nedser wants to sweep but no luck. Booker advances to half guard. Nedser wants to get back to full guard. Booker tries to pass to full mount but Nedser defends it. Booker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nedser does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Booker seems to be working for a kimura but Nedser defends the submission attempt. Booker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Nedser is trying to get back to full guard. Booker content to control rather than advance. Booker passes to full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nedser working to try and regain half guard.
Nedser on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nedser tries to get out of the position. Nedser prevents Booker from taking his back. Nedser tries to control Booker's body but Booker pushes him off. Nedser squirms to his side and now Booker has his back! Nedser defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nedser trying to control the hands but Booker breaks the grip. I really don't envy Nedser right now.
Booker is looking to control Nedser but Nedser is wriggling around and keeping busy. Booker might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nedser kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Nedser is trying to stand back up. Nedser won't enjoy being in this position. Booker looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Nedser is tapping - it's over boys! Booker picks up the submission victory!
