Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian McShame!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom McReary!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McReary gets the takedown into side control.
McShame is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
McShame managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by McReary.
McReary has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McShame tries to control but McReary manages to take his back.
McShame breaks McReary's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
McShame loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McShame preventing the sweep.
McReary wants to stand but McShame is controlling the position.
McReary is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McReary can't keep his opponent in guard - McShame advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
McReary is trying to maintain the position but McShame is very close to passing his half guard.
McReary manages to get to full guard.
McReary looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

McReary wants to stand and escape but McShame is having none of it.

McReary keeping moving, preventing McShame from controlling successfully.
McShame wants to pass the guard but McReary is keeping the position.
McShame in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McShame with a poor takedown

so McReary counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
McReary won't allow McShame to sweep him here.
McReary works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McReary is nestled in close to McShame, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
McShame is looking to control McReary's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McShame avoid being mounted?
McReary tries to pass the half guard into mount. McShame knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
McReary prevents McShame from improving his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McReary working the head and body with strikes.
McShame has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McReary is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McShame is pressing down on McReary's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
McReary postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McShame tries to close the distance and clinch up but McReary swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice shot by McReary.
Tom McReary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McShame fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McReary misses with a double jab.
McShame fails with the takedown

and McReary counters with a nice double leg into guard.
McReary is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
McReary wants to pass the guard but McShame is keeping the position.
McReary postures up.
McShame can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McReary controls the pace.

McReary stands up from McShame's guard - McReary perhaps looking for a knockout.

McReary looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McShame!
McReary lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McReary controlling from the full mount.
Let's hope that McReary has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McShame wants to control but McReary is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McReary throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! McShame has his hands clasped together but McReary breaks the hold and McShame is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by McReary!
