Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roland Tumpert!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Candinni!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Candinni displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tumpert.
Candinni fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Tumpert is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Candinni's half guard.

Tumpert is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Candinni doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tumpert.
Candinni is looking to improve his position.

Candinni looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Candinni moves into full guard.

Tumpert thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Candinni wants to sweep but no luck.

Tumpert drops back, looking for a kneebar! Candinni looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Candinni looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Candinni!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tumpert gets back to half guard.
Candinni is keen to just control but Tumpert is a slippery customer.
Tumpert regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Candinni.
Candinni trying to control the position from guard on top but Tumpert is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Candinni wants to pass the guard but Tumpert is keeping the position.

Tumpert looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Candinni would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Tumpert keeping moving, preventing Candinni from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tumpert has a closed guard, preventing Candinni from standing up.

Candinni stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Tumpert throws up his legs and catches Candinni in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Candinni tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Tumpert! That came out of nowhere!
