Marcello feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marcello feints and as roberts raises his hands in defense, Marcello changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Marcello drops back looking for a leg! roberts is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and roberts manages to kick Marcello off! Marcello jumps back into roberts's guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Marcello closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Marcello decides to stand back up. Marcello steps back and let's roberts get back to his feet.
Marcello feints and as roberts raises his hands in defense, Marcello changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

roberts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Marcello is controlling him.

roberts tries to control but Marcello manages to take his back.
Marcello slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Well, with Marcello on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before roberts is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Marcello is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. roberts has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Marcello has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! roberts taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Marcello doesn't care though - he's delighted!
